Rene
Guiette
René Guiette was born in Antwerp in 1893 and died in Wilrijkt in 1976. He was introduced to painting very early by his father, the artist Jules Guiette, but in 1919 he developed his own artistic language. Eastern esotericism and philosophies help shape her understanding of art and nourish her creative practice. Gradually, Guiette's work evolved from expressionism to abstraction through cubism. This exploration of diverse artistic movements is a testament to her constant commitment to pushing boundaries and experimenting to develop her own creative language. This quest pushes him to use different techniques, oil painting as well as collages of fabric or sand on canvas as well as on paper, thus adding texture and depth to his compositions.
His works are present in numerous museum institutions such as the Royal Museum of Fine Arts in Antwerp, the Foundation for Contemporary Belgian Art in Brussels, the Museum of Art in The Hague, the Royal Museums of Fine Arts of Belgium, the Museum of Contemporary Art of the University of São Paulo, the Museum of Contemporary Art of the University of São Paulo, the Museum of Contemporary Art of the University of São Paulo, the Museum of Contemporary Art of the University of São Paulo, the Center Pompidou in Paris, the Kunstmuseum in Basel.
Numerous solo exhibitions have been devoted to him, information quoted on the attached link https://reneguiette.com/expositions/
