The History of the AB Gallery

Founded in 1989 by Agnès Aittouares, "Galerie AB" is located in the heart of Saint-Germain-des-Prés, at 5 rue Jacques Callot in Paris. It offers a unique selection of artworks, spanning the period from 1890 to the present day. An expert with the FNEPSA (National Federation of Professional Experts Specialized in Art), Agnès Aittouares created an expert practice dedicated to modern and contemporary art in 2020, thus strengthening the gallery's legitimacy and influence on the art market.

A must-see for art lovers and professionals, Galerie AB brings together experts, museum curators, collectors, and dealers from around the world. Its commitment and high standards make it a benchmark in modern art. Active on the international scene, the gallery participates in major fairs such as Fine Arts La Biennale (Paris), the Salon du Dessin (Paris), Art Paris Art Fair (Paris), and the BRAFA Art Fair (Brussels). It also organizes solo exhibitions accompanied by publications, including Bonnard Vuillard. A Friendship (2022), Pablo Picasso. The Power of Line (2023), and Joan Miró. Works on Paper (2024). In addition, it hosts group exhibitions exploring cross-disciplinary themes, such as From Picasso to Matta: A Hispanic Influence in Paris (2022) and Drawings from 1880 to the Present Day (2025).

Key exhibitions

Œuvre sur papier de Joan Miró exposition Galerie AB

"MIRÓ. DRAWINGS, GOUACHES AND PASTELS"

This collection of original works on paper, initiated around ten years ago by Agnès Aittouares and Eric Martin, provides a chronological account of how the Catalan artist created a unique artistic universe, oscillating between dream and reality, the abstract and the figurative.

Joan Miró's entire oeuvre is imbued with writing, drawing, and poetry. Drawing is the root of his work, the starting point for his paintings and sculptures. It serves as the basis for his broadest artistic explorations. It is a means of expressing oneself in complete freedom, without rules or constraints. But above all, for Miró, it is an art form in its own right.

  • A selection of works on paper from 1934 to 1979
  • In-depth presentation of Joan Miro's work
  • Exhibition catalog available

La force du trait Picasso exposition à la Galerie AB

"PICASSO. THE POWER OF THE LINE"

To mark the opening of its new space in Saint-Germain-des-Prés and the celebration of the fiftieth anniversary of Pablo Picasso's death, Galerie AB - Agnès Aittouares is offering an exhibition of around twenty drawings created between 1942 and 1971.

This collection has grown over thirty years of discoveries and acquisitions from collectors and art dealers. It sheds light on the creative process and genius of Pablo Picasso, who reveals the essence through the power of a few strokes. All his favorite subjects are covered: mythology, peace, bullfighting, the musketeer, the painter and his model, etc.

  • Portraits of the artist's relatives
  • Preview of a private collection
  • Exhibition catalog available
