Rendon
Manuel Rendon, an Ecuadorian painter, left a significant mark on the surrealist and constructivist movements.
In 1917, he continued his studies at the Académie de la Grande Chaumiere in Paris and frequented painters from the Montparnasse district. Indeed, he turned away from official art to plunge into surrealism, often drawing inspiration from the South American imagination. Back in Ecuador, Rendon presented constructivist works that aroused the admiration of the country's greatest artists because of their modernity and their abstraction from nature. His numerous exhibitions in Ecuador and the United States made him one of the most important Ecuadorian painters in the history of modern art. His innovative work has inspired numerous artists such as Tàpies, Antonio Saura and Maldonado.
Manuel Rendon has succeeded in cleverly combining surrealism and constructivism, creating a unique and captivating artistic language. His works are an exploration of the unconscious and the complex relationship between man and nature, expressed through abstract forms and daring compositions. His artistic heritage continues to resonate and arouse admiration both for his aesthetic innovation and for his contribution to Ecuadorian and International Art.
