Galerie AB is pleased to announce the loan of two works by Pierre Bonnard to La Pedrera in Barcelona, as part of the exhibition “Els Nabis. From Bonnard to Vuillard”, curated by Isabelle Cahn and presented from March 6 to June 28, 2026.

Considered the first major Barcelona exhibition entirely dedicated to the Nabis, this international-scale event brings together major works created between the late 19th and early 20th centuries, exploring the decisive transition between Impressionism and the avant-garde movements. It highlights the founding principles of this movement: the decorative nature of painting, its dialogue with applied arts, and its ambition to integrate art into daily life.

The two paintings loaned by Galerie AB depict Marthe, Bonnard's partner and muse, whose silent presence runs through his entire body of work like a common thread. Both an intimate and universal figure, Marthe embodies in Bonnard's work a particular way of inhabiting the world — bathed in light, captured in the moment, transfigured by an incredibly rich palette.

Housed in the spaces of theprincipal floor of La Pedrera, the former Milà-Segimon residence designed by Antoni Gaudí, these works engage in a unique dialogue between two giants of modernity: the organic architecture of the Catalan master and the vibrant painting of the Nabi master.

This exceptional loan demonstrates the trust that the international museum world places in works represented by Galerie AB, and confirms Pierre Bonnard's place among the most celebrated and sought-after artists of the turn of the 20th century.
